Life Desired
That must be the story of innumerable couples, and the pattern of life of life it offers has a homely grace. It reminds you of a placid rivulet, meandering smoothly through green pastures and shaded by pleasant trees, till at last it falls into the vastly sea; but the sea is so calm, so silent, so indifferent, that you are troubled suddenly by a vague uneasiness. Perhaps it is only by a kink in my nature, strong in me even in those days, that I felt in such an existence, the share of the great majority, something amiss. I recognized its social value. I saw its ordered happiness, but a fever in my blood asked for a wilder course. There seemed to me something alarming in such easy delights. In my heart was desire to live more dangerously. I was not unprepared for jagged rocks and treacherous, shoals it I could only have change-change and the excitement of unforeseen.
Have Faith, and Expect the Best
Faith begins by believing in your heart that what is right has a chance. Faith is knowing in your heart that good can overcome evil, that the sun can shine in a rainstorm. Faith is peaceful and comforting, because it comes from within where no one can invade your private dreams.
Faith is not something you can demand or command; it is a result of commitment to belief. Faith is believing in something you can't see or hear, something deep inside that only you understand and only you control. Faith is trusting in yourself enough to know that no matter how things turn out, you will make the best of them

I will greet this day with love in my heart.
For this is the greatest secret of success in all ventures. Muscle can split a shield and even destroy life but only the unseen power of love can open the hearts of men and until I master this art I will remain no more than a peddler in the market place. I will make love my greatest weapon and none on whom I call can defend against its force.
My reasoning they may counter; my speech they may distrust; my apparel they may disapprove; my face they may reject; and even my bargains may cause them suspicion; yet my love will melt all hearts liken to the sun whose rays soften the coldest clay.
I will greet this day with love in my heart.
And how will I do this? Henceforth will I look on all things with love and I will be born again. I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will love the rain for it cleanses my spirit. I will love the light for it shows me the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars. I will welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart; yet I will endure sadness for it opens my soul. I will acknowledge rewards for they are my due; yet I will welcome obstacles for they are my challenge.

American movies’ incluence on the whole world
Hollywood is not content with stories of their own, they also bring in culture of other countries, here are some examples: Mulan, a retelling of the old Chinese folktale is about the story of a young Chinese maiden called up into the army to fight instead of his lame father, is very much displayed in an American style; Troy, about a war happened in Greece history, Americans’ heroism and individualism are obviously seen in this movie. Hollywood now has become the world's film capital. more and more Chinese movie makes and actors have a tendency to step up to the stage of Hollywood. For them to say that means the highest honor honor in filmmaking. To win an Oscar is also their American dream in a sense
American spirit in movies
Being called the state of liberty, US. attracted a great number of immigrants dreaming of freedom and changing their social class through their own efforts. This is what they called "American dream" at the early times. Ameican dream means ‘the traditional social ideals of the united states, such as equality, democracy, and material properity[②]’.Americans believe that everyone is free to be an individual, and everyone is born what he is. In the movie The Gold Rush, Charlie Chaplin exemplifies typically this Ameican spirit. The poor vagrant’s career is the represention of achieving individual value by self-strive and self-design. The movie Far And Way also offers a typical example. It tells about the story of an peasant, fell in love with a woman, moved to US. from England for his free land and finally suceeded. Afterwards, Ameican dream had become a strong desire of earning money and a success career by fair means or foul as Money worship prevailed in American society at that time. Another famous movie Forrest Gump reflected every aspect of U.S.A.'s everyday life, important incident of social political life in a period of American history through the eyes of a feeble-minedeless person. it satirized the nation and government to a certain extent.it gave a chance to those who lack cynicism, but simply accepts things for what they are. It made us believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity in life, everyone should be treated fairly and with the same level of respect,no matter what he is and where’s he from . Democracy and feedom is one of the most basic principles of American philosophy. So in the movie,we could see that even Forrest Gump, an idiot who is unfortunately born with a lower IQ and the muscle problem, has achieved lots of incredible success, he is a football star, a war hero, and later a millionaire! Americans emphasize on achievements and respect heroes. They have great sense in their hearts to praise success and heroes. Personal achievements are one of those with the highest value in Americans mind. Some high achievers in their career such as entrepreneurs, scientists, artists and all kinds of super starts became modern heroes. Hollywood producted lots of movies singing a high song of heroes. The fictitious ones are Spiderman, batman, and The Hulk, and the real ones are Citizen Kane, Saving Private Ryan, Patton etc. by creating these typical hero characters, Americans consider themselves as heroes. When there comes the war, starvation, terrorism, disease and calamity, there must be one or more heroes who save the people from untold miseries.because they believe that there’s nothing they can’t do. Many actors’ classic lines in movies widely become famous English sayings.here are some typical ones: ”It’s not the men in your life that counts, it’s the life in your men[③]”, ”tomorrow is another day[④]”, ”Life is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you're gonna get[⑤]”. Americans’ humorous style and optimistic philosophy of life contribute much to their success. They believe in god and believe that god helps those who he1p themselves. Life is bittersweet, no matter how hard it is, just to smile and enjoy yourself, because god loves Americans, because tomorrow is another day. Americans are open minded, they don’t believe in traditonal conforming to a general ideology or behavior. Individuality and self-expression are encouraged. That’s quite different from Chinese style. In the movies, they say what they say and do what they do, they sing and dance anywhere, they draw on their national flag, they make fun on the president and the government. They are adventurist, inventor, creater, etc. Hollywood did make lots of that kind of films like American Pies, Ture Lies, Harry Potter etc,.
Education
In the American educational system children are generally required to attend school from the age of five or six until age 16, with the majority continuing until they are at least 17 or 18, or have graduated from high school. The public education systems vary from one state to another but generally are organized as follows: * Age five: Kindergarten * Ages six-11: Elementary school. Children start in grade 1 and advance to grade 5 or 6. * Ages 12-14 or 11-14: Junior high school or middle school (usually grades 7-8 or grades 6-8, respectively). * Ages 14-18: High school (usually grades 9-12 or 10-12, depending on whether the community uses middle schools or junior high schools). The entire span of primary and secondary education, from Kindergarten to grade 12, is often abbrieved in the US as K-12 or K12, which in spoken American English is rendered as "K through 12" or "K 12." Additionally, many children attend schools before they reach the age of five. These pre-schools are often private and not part of the public educational system although some public school systems include pre-schools. Work and jobs An American highway in Atlanta, Georgia Enlarge An American highway in Atlanta, Georgia Most people commute to work using automobiles rather than mass transit; the effect of the automobile on the United States and its prominence in American life cannot be underestimated. Most jobs are based on a 40-hour work week; that is, five days (Monday through Friday), eight hours per day. The United States has minimum wage laws requiring a minimum wage for many employees, though a number of employment sectors are excluded. Minimum wage differs from state to state; some states have higher minimum wages than the wage mandated by the federal government. Vacations are usually two weeks. Other company benefits may include sick days and/or personal days. Americans usually retire at the age of 65, but may retire earlier if their pension plans/financial status permits it. [edit] Housing Immediately after World War II, Americans began living in increasing numbers in the suburbs, belts around major cities with higher density than rural areas, but much lower than urban areas. This move has been attributed to many factors such as the automobile, the availability of large tracts of land, the increasing violence in urban centers (see white flight), and the cheapness of housing. These new single-family houses were usually one or two stories tall, and often were part of large contracts of homes built by a single developer. The resulting low-density development has been given the pejorative label "urban sprawl."
International allegiences
Because of the size and large population of the country, America is often described as a nation of joiners who tend to self-associate with non-familial groups. Individuals tend to perceive themselves as "free agents" rather than bound by family or clan ties. Group allegiances are sometimes regional, but can also be related to a professional or fraternal organization. For example, residents of North Carolina are proud to be "Tar Heels," Indiana residents are "Hoosiers" and Texans are notorious for an especially prominent state pride often compared to nationalism. Many cities have a strong sense of civic identity, often reinforced by an innocuous but deeply felt rivalry with another local city. An example of such a rivalry exists between the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. A strong rivalry that continues to this day involves the cities of Boston and New York, which is centered around the historic baseball rivalry between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Recent immigrants tend to congregate with other immigrants from their country of origin, often establishing neighborhoods (sometimes called ethnic enclaves) in cities with popular names like "Chinatown", "Poletown", or "Little Saigon." Second- and third-generation descendants of immigrants tend to have looser affiliations with their ethnic groups. America has tens of thousands of clubs and organizations, and if a group has a charitable or service orientation, Americans may volunteer their time through those groups. Examples of these groups include the Rotary Club, the Boy Scouts of America, Little League, etc.
